Volcanoes!

Volcano , the word of the week, this would not normally effect F1 but it is , in the form of flight problems. As you all might have heard that flights in uk and Europe are effected so a quick call to swisschick for her to gives us a low down on Volcanoes ( Seismology & Volcanology is her field). Ok so idiots guide to what is happening.
Eyjafjallokull Volcano is at present erupting, she last erupted about 200 years ago and did so for about a month. The ash is the problem as she erupts the gas from the volcano is pushing the ash and small pumice is being push into the upper atmosphere, this if sucked into an aircraft engine can "grit it up" and stop it from working , thus it would fall from the sky.
The Ash clouds are being moved around by air flow and up drafts in the upper atmosphere.
Over the next few days you might find a small grey to black dust appearing on your cars and windows.

Race week!

Well another Grand Prix approaches, not sure who has the upper hand, still not sure, i have to admit i am finding it hard to settle into the season this year, so i went in search of some f1 fun!
I came across a Russian based F1 site who has created alternative jobs for drivers, it is very tongue in cheek, but i must say the jobs for Vettel, Barrichello and Webber , i can really see them doing lol

The Chicane and ITV-F1 Live Chat.

Well on my usual read on the forums, i came across an interesting thread. Live Chat during the race, it appears that both ITV-F1 and The Chicane forums run live chats, ( well i prefer to watch the race!) well it appears that someone on the Itv chat used the name of one of the Chicane Members, and this has started off alittle mud slinging, with another chicane member accussing someone else of using an alias to promote their forum. link to thread http://forums.itv.com/thread/924335.aspx in case you want to read for yourself.
Well even though i think live chat during the race is a little silly, but the chicane members have a point, you should have to sign in to use the chat, not use just anyones name.

Ferrari are working on an f-duct , like that of Mclaren's, but they are not the only ones, so are Sauber , RedBull, Williams and Force India.
The Engine problems suffered by Ferrari and Sauber are unrelated, even though they are all Ferrari engines.
Sepang track is due to be improved before the 2011 Grand Prix, they are planning on a building a new paddock support, hospitality suites and the leaking roof of the main grandstand.

Mercedes have stated that if the car is not on pace by June that they will change focus to the 2011 car.

Malaysian GrandPrix 2010

Well round three of this years season is over and it produced a few surprise. Quali was wet, mmmmm very wet front line team chose to wait it out till it passed, but the weather caught them out and Ferrari's Massa & Alonso ended up at the rear end of the grid along with Mclaren's Hamilton. Pole went to RedBull's Mark Webber.
Race day turned out dry, and the boys at the back hoped for rain that did not come. It produced some good drives, From Hamilton ,Massa,Alonso and some new boys like Renault's Petrov also Jamie Alguersuari who scored points for Torro Rosso.
Retirements came thick and fast, amongest them both Sauber's, Schumi and Alonso.
Driver of the Day was Fernando Alonso, for showing us what a racer he is with his sickly Ferrari and for going out fighting.
